This full kitchen renovation in Wichita brought new life to a family home that had been living with a cramped, outdated kitchen for over two decades. The homeowners wanted a brighter, more open space where they could cook, entertain, and gather daily. Every element was selected for durability, beauty, and daily function — from the custom charcoal cabinetry to the quartz waterfall island that became the heart of the home.
The Client's Goal
The homeowners wanted a modern, open-concept kitchen that could handle daily family meals and weekend entertaining. They needed more storage, better workflow, and a design that connected visually with their living and dining areas.
The Challenge
The existing kitchen was closed off from the rest of the home with a load-bearing wall, outdated oak cabinetry, laminate counters, and inefficient corner storage. Plumbing and electrical systems also needed significant updates to support modern appliances and lighting.
Our Solution
We removed the load-bearing wall and installed a steel support beam to open the kitchen into the living space. Custom flat-panel cabinetry in charcoal with soft-close drawers solved the storage problem. A large quartz island with a waterfall edge added prep space and casual seating. Recessed and pendant lighting replaced the single overhead fixture. We also rerouted plumbing and upgraded the electrical panel to support a dual-fuel range and built-in appliances.
